It's always funny to me how many threads are entitled "Best [miscellaneous guitar effect] pedal..." Its so subjective. So rather than ask a question like that which will undoubtedly end with a pile of bodies, cancelled band reunions, and unfriended tone snobs; I'll ask what is your FAVORITE overdrive pedal. Overdrive, distortion, fuzz. Whatever you like.
Here's mine:
Overdrive: Voodoo Lab's Sparkle Drive MOD
A ton of great features built into this guy. But my favorite so far has been the ability to blend your clean signal back in. This feature sounds really great with the 808 circuit. Overall a really usable pedal both in combination with other OD/Dist pedals and as a stand-alone.
Fuzz: Fulltone Original '69 Fuzz
